Clarkos Performance – metho 2bbl Holley giving extra 67 HP

Clarkos Performance – Clarkos metho 2bbl Holley carby picks up a massive 67 HP GAIN (from before to now)
 
Local speedway car owner Geoff, approached Dave (Clarko) complaining he has a metho carby on his race car and is a pile of S### , which was supplied and dyno from another person…..I asked why whats up mate? and these were the problems he had
- uses over 60 ODD  liters of fuel a night
- had not much punch off the mark (dead, no pick up)
- was not happy with over all outcome
- blows the odd head gasket etc

So Clarko takes a look and discovers the carby he purchased else where was a piece of #### and the troops really had no idea, every thing was wrong, so i took the time and explained to Geoff why etc
So we did a Clarko metho carby for his sedan, we did a dyno with what he had, so we had a some bench mark to blow out of the water, (before and after) we got the data and found they couldnt even tune a metho carby let alone build one
so off with the old and on with the clarko carby, Geoff was wrapped these are the gains we got
- better fuel comsumption (1/2 the fuel)
- massive 67 HP Gain (just from the carby)
- more torque
- stack loads of accleration
- never blew a head gasket again
- a race winning car (from a mid runner to a front runner)
- the engine was then used in another car and won the Australia titles

Pit report – had plenty of action with brakes locking on and a few $2 parts fail, but we still were able to get there in the end! 4 drives 4 wins for Clarko in the A grade section

THE BOOK OF SECRETS
The Book of secrets has been opened. Clarko has been flow benching and testing the theories of how much and what CFM and gains are possible to get out of a 350 and 500 2bbl holley, if parts after market parts were avaliable!!!
The 500 Holley :-  using the same ventury size as a standard carby (35mm) and a booster combination, we have now completed the R&D. Yes, it is possible to achieve 680 CFM from a 500 holley

stay tuned for the results ………

By doing this this is what we should see gains in
-  More air speed
-  Higher signal strength
-  More torque
-  More HP
as long as the car requires  or wants more carby

Off to the dyno next week to see how this proves in a ral life situation

Managing Director, Paul Miller, has had extensive cross training in the engineering trade. An apprentice fitter and turner trained through the Australian Army for 11 years, gaining experience and qualifications in all aspects of machining, fitting, gunsmithing (armourer), small engines, blacksmithing, welding TIG/MIG, hydraulics and pneumatics, maintance repair, with a “just get it going again now” requirement from the “clients”.
